Polycab makes both DCR and non-DCR solar panels. DCR (Domestic Content Requirement) panels use Indian-made cells and are the ones required for PM Surya Ghar and other government-subsidised rooftop schemes. Non-DCR panels are typically used on commercial and industrial projects that don't claim a subsidy.
The N-type TOPCon bifacial range (580–605 Wp) offers the highest efficiency and the best performance in heat, with a lower temperature coefficient that matters during Bihar's summers. The Mono PERC range (525–560 Wp) remains a cost-effective option.

Common questions
Do I need DCR panels for PM Surya Ghar?
Yes. The central subsidy under PM Surya Ghar requires DCR modules made with Indian cells. Keep the manufacturer's DCR documentation for the module serial numbers, as it is checked during inspection.
Are bifacial panels worth it on a rooftop?
Bifacial panels gain the most when mounted high above a light-coloured roof. On elevated structures common in Bihar and West Bengal, the extra rear-side generation can be meaningful; on flush-mounted roofs the gain is smaller.
Can I mix TOPCon panels with an older inverter?
TOPCon panels have higher current. Polycab's current on-grid and hybrid inverters accept 20 A per string, which suits them. Check the inverter's input current limit before pairing.
