Polycab 5 kWh lithium battery
A 48 V lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery for Polycab hybrid inverters, with over 6,000 cycles and room to grow to 150 kWh.
The PHLVB-5K-AG3 is Polycab's low-voltage lithium battery for its hybrid inverters. It uses LFP cells, the chemistry most solar installers now prefer for its long cycle life and thermal stability, and each pack has its own battery management system.
As a rough guide, the 5 kWh of usable energy can run about 500 W of essential load (fans, lights, a fridge and Wi-Fi) for around 10 hours, or about 1 kW for around 5 hours, before inverter losses. Add more batteries in parallel when a home or shop needs longer backup.

Common questions
Is the battery covered by the PM Surya Ghar subsidy?
No. The subsidy is calculated on the solar panel capacity only. Batteries are quoted and paid for separately.
Can it be installed outdoors?
The battery is rated IP20, so it should be installed indoors or in a protected enclosure, away from rain and direct sun.
Which inverters does it work with?
It is designed for Polycab's single phase (PHIS-ESUQ) and three phase (PHIT-ETLV) hybrid inverters, which also give the longest combined warranty.
